foodie networking – dinner on a dime – jambalaya!
My husband used to live in Louisiana so every once in a while when we are mulling over dinner he puts in a request for jambalaya. There are two coupons out there right now that can be combined to make a super easy, super inexpensive version of this tasty dish.
Head over to Facebook and the Hillshire Farms fan page, select Inner Voice at the left and watch a quick video to print (2) $1 coupons for their sausage. (I usually buy their turkey kielbasa for this dish but you can match to any sales happening at your fav grocery store)
For the second coupon you can dig out your 8/28 RP for the Zatarain’s Rice Mix coupons or grab the printable ones here at Coupons.com
Zatarains has a tasty Jambalaya mix…BUT…it is a bit high in sodium so, if you prefer to do the dish without the box mix you can try this great recipe for a healthier version that is still pretty low cost.
Note: you can also add shrimp to the dish for a bit of higher cost and more traditional jambalaya
Zatarains rice mix less coupon = approx $1.50 for one box wyb 2
Hillshire farms turkey kielbasa = approx $4.00
Serves 4
Price Per Serving: $1.38!
Enjoy!
